…an evening of Latin Jazz, Tequila and fun!
Featuring The Héctor Infanzón Quartet direct from México.
The Embassy of Mexico in Trinidad and Tobago, Cascadia Hotel and Conference Centre and Production One Ltd. have come together to produce and present internationally-acclaimed, Mexican Jazz Pianist, Héctor Infanzón, in Concert together with his Jazz Quartet, for one night only, on July 24, 2010 at the Cascadia's Grand Ballroom in St. Ann's, Port-of-Spain.
The event, titled MéXICAN journey, will present patrons with a Mexican-themed evening of Latin-Jazz, Tequila, Mexican finger-foods and Fun. The evening's main entertainment element will be Infanzón's live performance, of pieces from his most recent CD, Citadino. Infanzón is one of México's great jazz pianists and composers. He has toured with Ricky Martin and performed with Wynton Marsalis, Carlos Santana and Jose Feliciano and will be taking patrons on a sonic journey through the heart of the city where he was born, México City. The CD's title loosely translates to "one from the city."
Another element of the evening is the display and sale of the product that defines México, tequila. Local brand managers at several distribution companies have endevoured to have available many brands of this national drink of México which is experiencing international growth as a high end drink of choice. The hotel will compliment this with a festive Mexican feel with cuisine to suit.
The chance to hear jazz interpreted across cultural boundaries is one of the evenings great strengths. The opportunity to share the sounds, flavours and fun of México with new friends from around the world is another.
